Bali bound, to safe and sound!

What a blessing to be here. Thank you so much for your support, I would not be able to be here without you all.

Thank you to Wehtahna Tucker and the kids at Kids for Peace, for the awesome peace packs! And thank you to the San Diego Soccers for the soccer balls and shirts. Thank you to Blue Water Tackle in Solana Beach for the fishing line for kites and thank you to Progression Surf for the kids clothes and toys! To those who are supporting financially, thank you from the bottom of my heart! I was able to give the house mother some money yesterday, and today she was able to take three of the infants to the clinic for medicine for their fevers! So awesome! :)

At Yayasan Permata: Ibu Tina, the house mother has taken in some infants that require a lot of attention. I walked in when I arrived yesterday, and she was very happy to see me again. Some of the kids remembered me from 4.5 years ago, and they all think my beard is funny! They swat at it, grab it and try to hide toys in it... ok, they have not really tried to hide toys, yet anyway.

A couple of the infants, Jewel, Joshua, Samuel and Yaya have a cough and fever, so they have been crying a lot. I held a little boy named Joshua for over an hour yesterday, and I think he was whimpering the whole time, with slight pauses in between feeding him some milk and giving him a pacifier. As soon as I handed  him back to Tina, he stopped whimpering. I laughed when that happened.  It is such a joy to be here, a joy to help and it is so fun loving and playing with the kids.

I have taken a handful of boys surfing two days in a row, and they are very grateful for the ride. These little dude are great surfers!

My responsibilities starting on Monday: I get to teach a couple of the under developed boys English and then we get to do an activity. Most of the other kids are in school, so I will be schooling the remaining ones. How awesome! As you can imagine, having so many children running around, a place can get rather messy, so I also get to help clean up after meals, which is a pleasure. When needed I will be the 'tickle monster' and chase the kids around, and also, if they want to go flying, I get to pick them up :)

Ok, I will be back on in a week or two with more updates!

May God fill you with overflowing joy,

Lets rescue more children from the streets...

The idea came to print out some shirts that could be sold to raise funds to purchase more property for a small orphanage in Bali. I, Richard, was there for a month in 2006, and that experience taught me a lot, and revealed how much of a need there is for rescue and intervention. The children's home, Yaysan Permata, in Bali, Indonesia can hold about 30 kids, however there are thousands still out on the streets that are being abused, exploited and finding themselves hopeless.

With 100% of the proceeds of this shirt going into a building fund, we hope to raise enough money to purchase more property, whether it is a house, an old resort, or apartment building. We would like to give more kids a chance of hope, and the ability to dream again.

This shirts sell for $25.00. Each shirt cost about $8.00 to make, so with each shirt sold, $17.00 goes into the children's building fund.
